Train - there's a NJ Transit train (#7813) running from NYC (5:14am) Newark (5:32am) New Brunswick (6:11) Princeton Junction (6:25) arriving at Trenton at 6:44 am. This is the train to take from all points north of Trenton to arrive for our 7:00 am start at front of the Trenton Transit Center.
Other Mass transit - Here's a good overview of center and its buses, light rail and all trains to Trenton.
Starting/Ending at Other Points - Here's a good list of plenty of small D&R lots along the trail for alternatives. See the Milestones & Schedule page for ideas. Princeton Junction station and Hamilton station are good alternatives to join us or peel off. If you plan to use P.J. or Hamilton, we may be able to provide a shuttle for the extra 1+ miles to the trail but you must notify us ahead of schedule so we can plan to pick you up.
Start - Trenton Parking - there is plenty of parking near Trenton Transit Center (72 South Clinton Avenue) - looks like about $10-11 per day. It appears there may be some street parking but it might be time limited.
End – New Brunswick Parking - maybe the best strategy for people north of Trenton is to park in public garages across from station. The most convenient is right across the street at the Ferren Daily Deck. Approach from Church St one block behind - $12 per day, 24hrs, machine pay. Street parking may be time limited.
Walk - we'll be heading out of the Trenton train station west for a 1.2 miles on State St to the Calhoun St bridge across the Delaware where we pick up the start of the ECGreenway/D&R Canal. See the Interactive Map on TR2NB40.org for details.
Support Stops/Breaks/Lunch– We are planning 4 staff supported stops assisted by a gracious group of EMS, BRMS, and ECG staffers at miles 12, 16, 24 and 32. They will provide water and light energy snack food. Bring your own lunch, drink and high carb energy snack food. Mike Krumier of the ECG will be shadowing us in his van and and EMS staffer will assist on his bike and provide extraordinary support if needed.
AfterWalk Re-Fueling – we are planning a final stop at the Timulty’s Pub 361 George St a couple blocks from the train station around 9pm. An old reliable for burgers and beer. Dutch treat. But everyone is welcome.
